"Graduation-invitation-screen-printing-session" 09/05/11
Because of my upcoming graduation I needed some nice invitations for my family and friends. I couldn´t find any, so i decided to create some on my own with screen printing. Together with Florine, a good friend of mine who is an screen printing expert, we spent a whole weekend in the screen printing workshop and it was amazing. To do layer by layer and see how the things evolve was so exciting. I definitely have to come back and try more!! The next blogpost will be about the result ;)
ENTDECKE WIEN! (Discover Vienna!) - a children travel guide 28/02/11
When I came back from New York City I had to start immediately with my Bachelor thesis. I love to design for children - therefore I tried to find a theme where I can do that. The connection between travelling and children was a cool challenge. So I decided to make a children travel guide.
People have tried to design products for that special audience, but on closer examination they show various weaknesses. The aim of my Bachelor thesis was to create a product that lives up to the expectations of the target group “children“. I created a children travel guide that is divided in two parts - one for children and one for adults. Furthermore I designed as an extra element two different types of postcards which come with the travel guide.
On the picture below you can see in the back the theoretical part of my thesis which is more or less just text - describing my concept and the phase of research. In the front of the picture is my children travel guide.
Internship at VAULT49 28/02/11
From the beginning of October to the end of December I was doing an internship at Vault49, located in vibrant and never sleeping New York City. During this three months I learned a lot and got to know so many interesting people and places. I can definitely recommend to do an internship in New York - it is completely different from everything else you have experienced. I worked for a broad group of clients - from magazines to (RED) to brands like Camel. Sometimes I had the opportunity to get away from the computer and do some craftsman work - that was pretty nice.

New year - new design | Bokuball 2011 | 20/09/10
They liked what I did last year, therefore they asked me to do the corporate design for 2011 as well. The flyer is already on his way. This year´s theme are roses - made out of paper. Everything will be printed on eco-friendly paper - yeah.
Christmaspaper for Huber&Lerner 25/07/10
That is pretty strange - it is really hot outside (thank god we have a good working aircondition) but on my screen i see christmas stuff. Right now, we at dasuno, are working on the new christmaspaper for Huber&Lerner.
It´s not about creating some nice looking santa clauses, but finding things which are related to christmas but actually don´t look like christmas - easy, isn´t it?! I decided to mix up owls and reindeers, christmas food and patterns. Here a quick preview what happened so far.

I really like the outcome of this project. Blank is a magazine realized by journalism students of the FH Joanneum. I did the cover and illustrations for three articles.

Illustrations for blank:3 magazine / Internship at dasuno 09/05/10
Long time, no writing. Therefore a BIG update what is going on right now. Currently I am doing some illustrations, including the cover, for the third issue of the studentmagazine blank. The theme of the whole issue is "travelling" - which fits perfectly for me. It will be printed soon - end of june, I think.
Last but not least - One week ago, I started my internship at the advertising agency "dasuno", which is based in Vienna (for this reason I moved from Graz to Vienna). The best thing of dasuno is, that their focus is not only on advertising but illustration as well. My start into the "working world" was to think/ research about a modern graphical/ visual concept for the lipstick "Rouge Dior". This is a pretty amazing project to start with, because our team could think outside boundaries like the Dior corporate identity and stuff. Lets see what the next week holds ready for me. Broadcast Design for "Latino TV" 17/01/10
Our 5th semester project is to create the broadcast design for the show "Latino TV" which will be shown on OKTO (austrian TV channel). We will design the intro/outro, the cornerbug, the intros to the different parts of the show and a logo. "Latino TV" is about the Latin-American community who lives in Vienna. Currently we are working on the intro - stay tuned!

"Create your own world" - DONE! 16/01/10
Our piece is done! Together with my colleague Doris Neuhold I made "Create your own world". The motion piece is about real filmed hands creating their own world out of an empty space. By pulling the sun´s shifter the world becomes even more beautiful by being coulorized. We used Cinema 4D to build the world and After Effects for post production.

3D MAX Workshop 05/01/10
In the last weeks before christmas we had a workshop where we got in touch with 3D Max. The guys from SHOTSHOTSHOT showed us awesome tricks as well as what we can do with this programme. Working on a new motion piece: "Create your own world" 12/11/09
Yesterday we had our second session with the guys from the motion studio EAT MY DEAR. Really inspiring! During the workshop we have to create a stylish-20-seconds-long-sequence in groups of two.
The plot of our sequence is quickly told: two hands create their own little world in an empty room. That is the reason why the project is called: "Create your own world" - with your own two hands. As you can see below, we use 3D for building up the fantasy world and real film for the hands. In the end we are going to add a nice touch in After Effects.

My new mugcover 25/10/09
I like tea and, of course, I am an owner of a "I-can-design-my-own-mugcovers" - mug. Yesterday it was time to make a new one. Matrjoschkas have been on my mind since I came back from St. Petersburg - now they are part of my new cover :) .

I ♥ NYC 13/10/09
I am back from my university trip to New York City - it was my first time and it was awesome! 9 days full of inspiration, museums, sightseeing, exploring, taking pictures, visiting design companies, shopping and last but not least, of course, sitting in several pubs.
We (my universityclass and me) met the people from core77 (designblog), uvph (motion), firstborn (digital agency) and PRECISE Continental (printing house - specialized in engraving and offset). At the end of the excursion I also had the possibility to stop by at Vault49 (stunning illustration style - thx for the great poster!).
So, if you are going to visit NYC: see the MoMA and the Cooper Hewitt Museum (don´t forget the shops), take the metro to Coney Island, make a trip with the Staten Island Ferry (FREE!!), shopping at Broadway (between Prince Street and Spring Street), sit on the red stairs in the middle of the Times Square in the evening, eating a burger in a pub (incredible!) and spend at least one afternoon in the Central Park.

Internship at BüroX Design, Vienna 27/09/09
During my summer holidays I did a 2 month internship at BüroX Design in Vienna. Their work ranges from corporate design to editorial design to advertising and package design.
In the first month I was involved in projects for bwin or the MQ (Museumsquatier). At the same time I started to do some research on my project there - the XXXLutz babybook. During my second month I was pretty much working on the babybook - which was a lot of fun - designing the layout and creating several illustrations involving scanned stuff and drawings. Furthermore I got the possibility to do some package design in the same style - yeah!
On the whole it was a cool experience, I learned so much and met great people!
